Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before visiting the clinic.
Do I need a doctor’s referral to book?
No. You can book directly with us without seeing your GP first. If the assessment shows you need a scan or a specialist’s opinion, we will write to your GP and explain why.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Something loose that lets you move easily. For a back, hip or knee problem, shorts are best; for a neck or shoulder, a vest top or loose T-shirt lets us see how the joint moves. Both treatment rooms are private, with space to change.
Can I claim back through private health insurance?
Many health insurance policies and employer cash plans cover physiotherapy. Check with your insurer before your first visit, as most ask for an authorisation code. You pay at each appointment and we give you an itemised receipt to send in.
How does a 60-minute first appointment help?
Short slots often leave time for little more than a sheet of exercises. An hour lets us look at the whole picture, explain clearly what is wrong, start hands-on treatment on the first visit and check you can do your home exercises properly.
Is there parking available on site?
Yes. There are three free bays directly in front of the clinic, including one accessible bay, and free street parking along Wren Lane. Calderwick station is a level seven-minute walk.
